Move from “what we can do” to “why customers buy”
Build a complete view of AI product design and choose one real business case for the course.
Move from “what we can do” to “why customers buy”
Businesses often begin product design with a list of capabilities. Customers begin somewhere else: “Will this solve the problem in front of me?”
This course helps you build a product logic that can be tested:
specific customer → critical situation → valuable problem → deliverable result → reason to buy.
AI can organize information, generate alternatives, expose blind spots, and improve expression. The owner still decides whom to serve, which problem matters, and which result the business can responsibly promise.
Capability, product, and value
A capability is something your team can do. A product organizes capabilities into an offer a customer can understand, buy, and accept. Value is the improvement the customer experiences: time saved, risk reduced, revenue gained, or greater certainty.
Customers rarely pay for a capability list. They pay for a credible improvement.
Your course project
Choose a real offer and complete these sentences:
- The customer I want to serve is:
- They notice the problem when:
- The issue causing the most difficulty is:
- They currently handle it by:
- If solved, the change they want most is:
Avoid phrases such as “all companies” or “improve everything.” Narrow the customer until you can name at least three real examples.
Ask AI to separate your notes into known facts, assumptions, and customer questions. Tell it not to invent demand. Your result for this lesson is a first customer–situation–problem draft that every later lesson will improve.
